homepageChocolate ART has been a creator of unique chocolates and sculptures for over 15 years. Surrounded by the stunning views of Matlock in Derbyshire chocolates are designed, crafted and created by hand in the infamous ‘Chocolate Studio’.

The Chocolate Studio is situated on the ‘helter-skelter’ road to Riber Castle in Matlock, on the edge of the Peak district. While working with chocolate, you’ll be able to enjoy the panoramic views of Matlock – Matlock Bath – Heights of Abraham Cable cars – and the hills towards Chatsworth.

Courses are for beginners to learn foundation skills, ‘chocoholics’, students who are looking to further their knowledge or for those who are curious how chocolate works.

Courses are One on One – meaning you work at your own speed, with no pressure or worries about keeping up with other students.

However if you prefer to work with someone you know I also offer courses for up to 2 students.

We offer courses for children too!

Group bookings are possible at a venue in Nottingham, please contact me for further details.

‘Granddaughter Heather & Grandson Benjamin, my official chocolate tasters and Quality Controllers’

The journey begins with sourcing the finest cocoa from around the world. The beans are harvested – the fermentation, drying & preserving process happen at source, then shipped to Belgium where they are being roasted, ground, mixed, conched and refined into chocolate, which then finds its way to the bottom of our hill. In winter this proves interesting and involves bringing the chocolate up by sledge! The chocolate is then melted in a melting kettle and hand tempered on a granite table before secret ingredients are added. Each new idea is designed, developed and refined to deliver the perfect result
